“The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.”
Jesus. Mark 4:26-28. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 13 of 30 Days of Growing. The kingdom of God—that’s the presence and work of God in your life, and in the world around you—sprouts from seeds. The seeds of the kingdom are the teachings of Scripture. In these teachings there’s an explosive power like the sturdy oak tree wrapped up in each little acorn. As we embrace these teachings, allowing the Spirit of God to take them deep into our hearts, our lives—and especially wrapping our hearts around the promises God has made to us—we are planting kingdom seed in our lives. With some time, and the Spirit’s nurturing presence, a beautiful harvest of a kingdom-oriented life is inevitable.
