17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Paul. 1 Corinthians 5:17. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 6 of 30 Days of Growing. When you and I embrace the identity Jesus has created for us, the old passes, and we enter into a new day. It’s not like everything changes—and yet it is. Deep within our hearts we sense things are different. How we see God, ourselves and others has changed and is changing. What we used to pursue with great passion seems less relevant, less captivating now—even worthless, perhaps destructive. We begin to see the brokenness of our old way of living and experience a deepening healing and a transformation of who we are—how we are. It isn’t complete in a moment, yet the shift begins the moment we embrace Christ. And embrace him again, and again.
