Jesus. Matthew 6:23. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 14 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, PT 2.
Focus in on our hurts and losses—and they begin to define us, drive us. They will affect our health and steal our hope. Get wrapped up in the imaginary reality peddled by screen-writers, and our own life will seem empty and disappointing. Lock in on the drama around us—the dumb decisions others make, the problems they’ve created for themselves—and it will begin to consume us, even change us. Truth is, we will ultimately become like that thing that gets our focused attention. And that’s kinda scary.
