Jesus. Matthew 7:5. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 25 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, PT 2.

Here’s the punch-line. Get your thinking straight—then you can actually be helpful to others. When I stop criticizing others and holding them up to my beliefs about right—even when I believe deeply I’m 100% correct—I can begin to help them. In other words, only as I begin to love others without condition—as God loves me—can I actually become an agent of helpful change in their lives. Do they have issues. You bet. Could they use a hand. You bet. But not when that hand is absorbed in self-righteousness, self-interest and self-justification. When I’m so absorbed in my own self that I see everyone else as in some way inferior, I have a problem the size of the world. A problem so big that I’m literally a danger to others and whatever imaginary help I give them is a charade and disservice.
