“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Jesus. John 3:5. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 17 of 30 Days Reflecting on the Kingdom. Our human heritage passes onto us a broken story—one which we will inevitably continue to write. However, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus we are freely given an alternate story—one which those who wish to inherit the kingdom of God must embrace. Apart from this abandoning of our brokenness and embrace of God’s free gift, we cannot hope to be participants in God’s fully-realized kingdom. Our lives as they are apart from Christ, are simply incompatible with the good world that God is setting up—and there are no self-help systems of ANY kind that can change that. We need the daily, active presence of God in our lives. He must do his work in us—or our dreams of kingdom-future will be shattered.
