Nathan:
“Love . . . is not provoked”
Paul. 1 Cor 13:4, 5. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 11 of 30 Days to a Better Marriage. Ouch. Love does not allow itself to be thrown into a rage by someone else. Sure, love definitely can get angry, but it can’t be provoked. In other words, love doesn’t snip and snipe when it’s feelings get hurt, yes it cry—but it does not retaliate or lose control or spiral into rage. Love holds a steady hand on the emotions—it chooses its response, rather than being driven to a response. It doesn’t blame the other for its actions, it owns them.
