But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And He laid His hands on them and departed from there. Jesus. Matthew. Matthew 19:14–15
Hey, I’m Nathan, and this is Day 20 of 30 Days Watching Jesus. Jesus loved kids—and they loved him. The stories of Jesus’ interactions with people, sprawled across the pages of the Gospels—includes this incredible interaction with them. He always had time for them. He was never too busy to bend down and give them a squeeze or hear their funny stories or try and grant their wild requests. Their smiles and laughter brightened his days, too. Their simplicity stood in stark contrast to the calcuated behavior of the throngs around him. Kids need more of us like Jesus around them. From how we treat our children—to how we treat a random kid on the street or the grocery—we can bring joy and happiness into their world in ways we’ve never dreamed, if we’ll just love them like Jesus did.
