Paul. 1 Cor. 13:4. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 9 of 30 Days to a Better Marriage. Sometimes this is a tough one for me. My wife is an incredibly talented, successful woman both at home and in the workplace. I admire her skills—sometimes I envy one, too. See, our spouse may outperform us in an area we’d like to be the star. They may get a promotion or an award, achieve some incredible success we wish we’d achieved. Here’s the deal, though: we aren’t competitors, we’re a team. In those moments of envy, jealousy—I’m forgetting that. We win together. Always. Her success is mine—mine her’s. Like a team fighting for the gold—cheer your spouse forward. Celebrate every win, no matter whose name is on the metal, or whose check shows the pay-raise.
