24 Nothing is better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God.
Solomon. Ecclesiastes 2:24. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 26 of 30 Days of Growing. I love the common-sense thinking of this guy: God wants you to enjoy life. Work hard—but not so hard that you can’t find joy and satisfaction in what you do. Eat with people you love. Celebrate the joys of life together. Don’t be driven by society or the calendar or your debt-load: choose your route; choose your pace—with an eye for living well now, with an eye on eternity. Change careers. Sell the house or the extra car. Downsize. Simplify. Cancel. Budget. Unload. Declutter. Not so you can do more—but so you can do less with greater purpose, expanding joy.
