9 In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Jesus. Matthew 6:9. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 11 of 30 Days of Prayer. “Our Father in Heaven” This short phrase takes in so much—reminding us that every single human being matters to God; that he is gentle and kind and today, that he is in heaven. This means he is not subject to the bounds of earth. Deeply invested in our story, yet above it, seeing infinitely beyond the boundaries of our tiny spot in time and space. An ancient prophet once said, during a time of deep crisis—there is a God in heaven. Every time we reach out in prayer, we joy him in this declaration. Yet how often we fail to see beyond the walls of our circumstances. How often we overlook the reality that the life flowing from him still sustains every heavenly body and keeps every human heart beating. In approaching our Heavenly Father, we are invited to allow the size of our God to redefine how we see ourselves and our world.
