10Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Jesus. Matthew 6:10. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 13 of 30 Days of Prayer. “Your kingdom come.” After reflecting on who God is, Jesus moves our minds to seeking the advancement of his kingdom. Expressing our personal identity with His purpose and our longing for its success. This is not merely about hoping for heaven and a restored earth, but a desire that, even now, God would continue his restorative work in the lives of broken people; that in every conceivable way, evil’s work would be thwarted and the good purposes of God become reality. We pray for the advancement of God’s kingdom whenever we talk to God about intervening in the life of a spouse, guarding our children or bringing peace to political unrest. When we ask God to raise up warriors to fight human trafficking; to protect those responding to natural disasters; and bring the light of Jesus to those who don’t yet know him. We’ll discover, as we dialogue with God, that our own hearts become more and more tuned to his own—that we too, become more and more personally invested in his work for our broken world.
