My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;
In the morning I will direct it to You,
And I will look up.
The Psalmist. Psalm 5:3. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 12 of 30 Days of Psalms. Looking up. That’s the way to begin. Every day. Before we look out, before we pick up that phone, grab the car keys or take a peek at the news, pause to look up. Direct our hearts to find their rest in the Creator. Before anything else. This helps to preserve the heart from the corrosive impact of life. It realigns us with the purposes of God for us. Reminds us of what matters now, today. Arrests our untampered passion to pursue what’s best for us, and moves us to love others well.
