The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made;
In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught.
The Psalmist. Psalm 9:15. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 18 of 30 Days of Psalms. Evil has a way of catching up to us. By the way, that’s one reason revenge is such a terrible mistake. The trap we lay to get back at another, will turn-tail and catch us. But it’s not revenge the author has in mind so much, as the political scheming of one nation against another. We, as Jesus-followers, must be wise to fight for just governance and not blindly embrace one party or another. Our cause is greater than that of one party or nation. If we support actions on a national or private scale intended to take unfair advantage of another, the plots we lay will ultimately engulf us. One cannot set her neighbor’s field afire without those flames ultimately chasing her down.
