Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
Jesus. Matthew 7:15. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is a BONUS Day of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, PT 2.
Our BONUS text is a rather serious warning. Not everybody who looks good, is good. Some of those we admire are dangerous. Everything appears right on the outside, but inside they’re hungry carnivores, out to get whatever selfish benefits they can. Serving their own interests first and last. No matter the good they appear to do, it is laced with toxic self-interest. And no, it’s not obvious to the casual observer. That’s why Jesus called for great caution. They may spin a good line, live an apparently decent life—all the while feeding their own ambition. In the end, their teaching and example will only lead to heartache and eternal loss.
