Matthew 7:26, 27 (NKJV): “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Jesus. Matthew 7:26, 27. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 7 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, pt 3–and other sayings of Jesus.
If your neighbor were building a house, and told you, “Hey, things are going so much easier now, since I through away the blueprints. It’s so much simpler not having to worry about all the details.” “That’s ridiculous,” you’d say—“whatever gave you that crazy idea?” And you’d be right, of course—you wouldn’t do it and I’d venture your neighbor wouldn’t either. Yet, I have to admit, we humans have a rather strange penchant for throwing away the directions for life—and ridiculous and ludicrous and nuts don’t even begin to describe the craziness of that idea. To make matters worse, after dismissing the blueprint of life we then go on to confidently expect a successful outcome. Wow, we humans sure are bright ones. You know what the certain end of that blueprint-free life is: a heap of rubble.
