Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own
understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Solomon. Proverbs 3:5 & 6. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is day 23 of ANOTHER 30 Days of Wisdom. What a promise: direction. I need it every day—and there isn’t a better source than God—in the whole wide world. The key to unlocking this generous promise of guidance, is whole-hearted trust. Throwing it all in with God. Holding back only leads to instability and erratic behavior. If we want the fullness of life-long blessing, it takes a certain, calculated risk—fully trusting the living God. Yet, in the end, we’ll discover it was worth every moment of uncertainty we may have encountered in the journey. Because his ways are always good and life-giving. Because his heart is always kind. Faithful. Because mercy and compassion surge in every thump of his great heart. And it’s also no secret, based on the biblical narrative, that he understands the future—our future—in ways we never will. His guidance then, will be informed, not only by his great heart, but by his intimate knowledge of everything about us, about our world, about every person in our lives—and in our world. About every turn of life and relationship. Thus, the wisdom granted for today will be the kind, generous gift of grace for the moment and preparation for the next turn.
