The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham
Matthew. Matthew 1:1. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 3 of 30 Days in the Gospels. Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham. Though from an apparently mundane recounting of Jesus’ genealogy, these words are full of insight. Jesus Christ—himself God—is also now a member of the human family, taking up his place among our ancestors. He is forever, inseparably linked to us, our blood flows through his Divine veins. God is also our blood-brother. Let that sink in for a moment. A LONG, LONG moment. Jesus our brother, your brother.
