I cried to the Lord with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill.
The Psalmist. Psalm 3:4. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 6 of 30 Days of Psalms. To be heard by God. That is nearly incomprehensible. If we really pause to wrap our minds around it, the fact that we could even have a mere instant of his attention for any reason at all, would be astounding. Yet, because of who he is, we have, not a mere instant, but the gift of his full-on attention. He says every single one of us with singularity—as though not another voice were calling out for attention. As though we alone occupied his soul audience chamber. Child of God, you are not overlooked. Your voice is not lost in a circus of voices. Your voice—yes yours—is heard with unmistakable clarity by the very Monarch of the Galaxies. It may not sort out as any of us wish it would—including God himself—but our voice is heard and his heart is motion on our behalf.
