Nathan:
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around.
The Psalmist. Psalm 3:6. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 8 of 30 Days of Psalms. Fearless. It’s a theme brought up on several occasions in Scripture. Angels themselves have invited human beings to live without fear. Fear, one Scripture writer indicates, brings torment. And so it does—yet the Psalmist found release from this fear—even in the face of a ten-thousand fold mob. Where? The ever-present sustaining hand of God. He knew, in his care, he could be safe. Safe from an advancing hoard, safe from overwhelming peer pressure. Unafraid. That’s how you and I can live, too.
