John 5:24 (NKJV): Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
Jesus. John 5:24. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 28 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, pt 3–and other sayings of Jesus.
What an incredible promise. When we believe the words of Jesus, trusting our lives to the One who has spoken these words—we HAVE everlasting life. Yes, everlasting life begins NOW. We often think of everlasting life as what is to come, but it isn’t. Well, at least that’s not the biggest part of it. See, real life is not having a beating heart, but living into our fullest potential in the brilliant company of our beautiful Creator. The new earth part is simply taking that relationship into the space it was always meant to be—a perfect, delightful world in the very presence of God, and a creation deeply in love with him and his good way of doing life. It’s the unfolding of the new life we’re living now—beyond all the brokenness and pain that makes up so much of what we know here.
