Matthew 7:20 (NKJV): Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Jesus. Matthew 7:20. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 3 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, pt 3–and other sayings of Jesus.
This is a solid heads-up from Jesus: fruit NEVER lies. Anybody can talk. But fruit never lies. Anybody can dress nice. But fruit never lies. Anybody can give a boatload of money. But fruit never lies. Anybody can smile pretty. But fruit never lies. Anybody can talk smart. But fruit never lies. So, when it comes to who you put your trust in—check the fruit. Don’t dismiss or write people off because the fruit doesn’t line up—just be aware that fruit never lies, and choose wisely how you allow that influence in your life. Keep in mind from the beginning of this passage, that nothing in the sermon on the mount is given as a means to judge others—only as insight to keep Jesus-followers on the right track and out of trouble.
