Matthew 7:22, 23 (NKJV): Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Jesus. Matthew 7:22, 23. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 5 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, pt 3–and other sayings of Jesus.
Love is the law of heaven’s kingdom. We may do all the church or religious stuff; we may be on the top-10 list of brightest Bible scholars—but if our lives do not demonstrate the unfolding of God’s beautiful character of love, we’re not doing his will. We may dance around the topic however we wish, but if our lives are not reflecting the unselfish character of the One we claim to follow, we simply don’t know him. If we did, we’d be like him—he’s that beautiful, that attractive. Anyone who gazes long enough, with an open heart, will be forever transformed by the magnificence of his character. They will love him. They will long to become like him. And that longing will be realized. And that’s the whole story.
