John 3:3 (NKJV): Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus. John 3:3. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 26 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, pt 3–and other sayings of Jesus.
Seeing the kingdom requires new eyes. The eyes of a child. Cuz the kingdom Jesus has in mind is not the one that swirls around us with its dazzle and pop—shouting its neon promise of lavish indulgence and unfading delight in the service of self. It’s a kingdom of grace that requires newly-born kingdom-eyes to see. A kingdom we discover as we turn in ourselves for a new edition. A new heart. A new reality that we live into one new day at a time. Then we begin to see the kingdom of God taking shape all around us. We begin to discover the sacred in the mundane of daily life. We see his footprints and hear his heartbeat in places we never thought we’d find it. And then, we begin to find ourselves working right beside him, advancing his kingdom—instead of our own.
