Luke 5:20 (NKJV): When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
Jesus. Luke 5:20. Hi, it’s Nathan, and this is Day 17 of 30 Days on the Mount of Blessing, pt 3–and other sayings of Jesus.
The darkness of past failure may weigh on your heart like a sleeping elephant. It may literally be sucking your life away—like a massive black whole pulling you into liquid darkness. Guilt may be hunting you down like a savage pack of hungry wolves. Every time you see yourself in the mirror a thousand haunting voices may be rehearsing your crime—or crimes. Sleep may be a fleeting fantasy. But this does not need to be the rest of your story. At all. Whatever the inky black secret of your soul—look into those gentle eyes bending over you, see that tender smile, feel that kind hand—hear those life-giving words: “My child, your sins ARE forgiven.” Hear them again, and again. Let them wash the darkness and guilt and fear from your soul. Let them bring new life—a new beginning. Yes, there may be steps you need to take to make amends—but you will not take those steps alone, and you will take them with a heart set free. He. Has. Forgiven. You. Period.
